History of one place

NEW AVAYKHON – The name of a mahalla (neighborhood) in Mirzo Ulugbek district. This mahalla was established in 2005. Avaykhon borders the mahallas “Minglola”, “Gulzorobod”, “Ko‘hna Mevazor” and “Temuriylar”.

The name of the mahalla is associated with the historical figure Abdulmansur, widely known to the public as Ablaykhon, who lived in the second half of the 18th century. Ablaykhon (1711–1781) was one of the prominent figures in the history of the Kazakh Khanate and demonstrated heroism in defending his homeland during the Dzungar invasion. The word “yangi” (new) in the geographical name indicates that the area was established in a relatively later period.
